The Rules: on the evening of November 4th, aeron and billy each shaved their pre-existing beards down using the same attachment (see image 1). Beard growth will be observed and documented periodically, the findings posted here, until December 21, when the Beards will be judged by a jury of their peers (criteria to be determined -- I definitely think LUSHNESS has to be in there). There will possibly also be a pie baking contest.

One gets the sense of a Lacanian return (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lacan) to some undivided state via the use of primordial ritual...mugachaca, mugachaca. The clear material implements, as if to symbolize the knife against the kine's flesh, and the multi-angled, serial shots of Billy and Aeron going from the embodied to the afterbirth of a ritual procession (i.e. the hair in the empty sink -- love that porcelain!) I feel the profound absence, the torture of my quotidian, insipid office prison!
you are definitely on to something - though i have to say i was also referencing Lacan's reinterpretation of Freud - what with all the mirrors and all.
